Introduction of Lo-Tong
Current known as Lo-Tong town is formerly known as Lo-Tong 25 miles. Before the
development of Lo-Tong, trees were grown prosperously in the current
Lo-Tong Zhong-Shan Park address, with monkeys inhabited in the trees.
In native language, monkeys were pronounced as “Roton”, Han Chinese interpreted it
with its pronunciation as “Lo-Tong”.
In 1950, the town was officially founded. With current population of 70,000, only less
than City of I-Lan, it is the second largest town, and the most major industrial and
commercial town of I-Lan County. Based on foundations of the ancients and our
hard-work, we present future characteristics of a town of Lo-Tong. Looking into the future,
the town council hopes to work with all the town residents in creating a better living
environment and living quality. We hope in the future we will continue to respect our
cultural heritage, as well as developing a clean industry---tourism; to promote
prosperous and development of economy and become a modern utopian. |
